Fourths Field (6-part, Bb trumpets)

Lots of fourths, of course, written for six Bb trumpets. Features a little jazz towards the end with chord changes for Trumpet 3.

This ensemble, composed in December 2013, is another one was written for the Perimeter College Trumpet Ensemble. This piece again is a play on words and another piece featuring the melodic and harmonic interval of the 4th, a favorite for many trumpet ensemble composers. There’s a little jazz thrown in to keep everyone happy, including a slow jazz ballad like section followed by a 12-bar blues. Trumpet 3 has chord changes for improvising. The piece is approximately 5:20 long.
