This five-movement suite was commissioned by James Thompson, Professor of Trumpet at the Eastman School of Music. It was originally composed for Jim and Sam Pilafian, the marvelous tuba player and founding member of the Empire Brass.

The piece covers a variety of styles and includes a jazz movement at the end.  The trumpet part requires Bb piccolo, C trumpet, Bb cornet, Bb trumpet.
